Choose your embroidery option
Chest embroidery is a practical starting point for a small company name, simple icon or business crest. Choose left or right breast where the garment supports it. Reference estimates cover chest designs up to 90 mm wide; the final height follows the shape of the artwork.
Back embroidery offers a larger stitched company name or logo on supported garments. Reference estimates cover designs up to 250 mm wide. Large areas of stitching can feel heavier than a small chest logo, so garment weight and the finished design are checked together. A logo on both chest and back counts as two applications per garment.
Embroidered polo shirts, hoodies and fleeces
For customer-facing uniforms, compare polo shirts by fabric, fit, available sizes and care instructions. A consistent chest logo can link together different fits and garment colours without asking every member of staff to wear the same cut.
Hoodies and sweatshirts add a warmer layer for trades, workshops and teams outdoors. Fleeces, softshells and work jackets need a closer check of pockets, lining, zips and the area available for decoration. A supplier photograph or category name alone does not guarantee suitability. Waterproof and protective garments require a specific compatibility review.
Simple lettering or a company logo?
Choose standard text or logo for straightforward lettering and small uncomplicated shapes. Choose a football style badge when the design contains several elements or a denser fill. The displayed rate is an estimate, not a promise that every design in that category has the same stitch count.
Fine text, gradients and very small gaps can need adjustments for thread. Tell us which wording matters most and supply the best original file you have. We will confirm the workable detail, finished dimensions and thread colours before production. You do not need to supply a machine embroidery file to begin.
Digitising, setup and repeat orders
New embroidery setup is £25 excluding VAT (£30 including VAT) per artwork, position and finished size. The same approved specification across garments is counted once. A chest logo and a back logo need separate setups. Setup is waived only when clothing and branding after discounts exceed £395, excluding VAT, delivery and setup; exactly £395 does not qualify. Reusing an existing production file needs staff approval.
Digitising turns a design into instructions for an embroidery machine. Uploading a picture is a request for review; it does not establish that the picture is a finished production file. For a repeat uniform, keep the garment code, logo reference, position, size and approved colour instructions together. Changing the finished size or position can require a different setup.
How to order embroidered workwear
Choose a garment, add the quantities for each size and colour, then continue to logos. Tap the Print or Embroidery picture, choose a supported position and upload a PNG, JPG or PDF up to 5 MB. You can type a company name, use saved artwork or send the logo later. Standard sizes provide a starting point; special sizes and colour instructions can be added. Review the clothing, logo applications, setup, delivery and VAT before saving your draft.
The garment picture shows approximate placement, not a production proof. Stock, the finished design, colours, position, garment compatibility and any embroidery estimate need confirmation before payment and production. A saved draft does not reserve stock or place a paid order. Allow a working production estimate of five working days after cleared payment and artwork approval, subject to availability and the confirmed specification.
Looking after embroidered uniforms
Follow the garment label and the agreed decoration care instructions. Keep the care requirements in mind when choosing a uniform for frequent washing. Tell us about commercial laundry, unusually high wash temperatures or specialist workplace requirements before the order is confirmed.
Sizing and returns
Plain items have a 30-day change-of-mind return policy. Items personalised with your logo, printing or embroidery cannot be returned for a change of mind. Your rights for faulty, damaged, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied goods are unaffected.
Check the size guide for each style and agree your wearer quantities before branding. If you need to assess fit first, discuss a plain garment before committing the full team order to embroidery.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a chest embroidered logo?
Reference estimates up to 90 mm wide are £5 ex VAT for standard text or logo and £7.50 ex VAT for a football style badge, per garment. Setup and final stitch review are separate.
Can I mix print and embroidery?
Yes, on supported garments you can request an embroidered chest logo and a printed back design. Each position has its own method and application charge. Suitability is checked before production.
Can I add staff names?
You can enter text or include a wearer list in your notes. Different names must be specified and priced individually; do not assume that one company logo setup covers every name.
